Wenn man auf die letzten drei Monate schaut, gibt es wohl kaum eine Schweizer Künstlerin, die mehr Höhen und Tiefen erlebt hat als Manon – aktuell einer der grössten Popstars, die die Schweiz zu bieten hat.
Aufgewachsen in Luzern und Zürich, hat sie den Sprung von einer internationalen Castingshow in eine der erfolgreichsten Girlgroups der letzten Jahre geschafft. 29 Millionen monatliche Hörerinnen und Hörer – Platz 198 weltweit unter allen Acts – zwei Grammy-Nominierungen, ein Auftritt auf der Grammy-Bühne, ein MTV Music Award
Sowie rund neun Millionen Follower, quasi einmal die ganze Schweiz und vor kurzem sogar ein eigenes Schauspieldebüt mit einem selbst konzipierten Kurzfilm.
Und dann der Bruch: Aktuell ist Manon vorerst nicht mehr Teil der K-Pop-Band. Laut Plattenfirma eine temporäre Pause, um sich um ihre Gesundheit und ihr Wohlbefinden zu kümmern. Hinter den Kulissen wird jedoch über einen möglichen Rassismus-Skandal spekuliert – und darüber, ob diese Pause wirklich freiwillig ist. Bestätigt ist davon nichts.
Währenddessen steht die Gruppe weiter auf der Bühne – zuletzt auch bei grossen Shows wie Lollapalooza, allerdings ohne sie. Im Internet diskutieren die Fans intensiv, machen Druck und wünschen sich klar ihre Rückkehr. Viele sagen: Die Gruppe ist ohne sie nicht dieselbe. Das zeigt, wie stark ihre Fanbase ist – vielleicht stärker, als erwartet.
Was genau hinter der Pause steckt und wie es weitergeht, ob sie Teil der Gruppe bleibt, ist offen. Klar ist: Manon wird ihren Weg machen. Egal ob in der Gruppe oder solo – und vielleicht auch nicht nur als Sängerin, sondern irgendwann auch als Schauspielerin oder Model.

Looking at the past three months, there are probably few Swiss artists who have experienced as many highs and lows as Manon—currently one of the biggest pop stars Switzerland has to offer.
Raised in Lucerne and Zurich, she made the leap from an international talent show to one of the most successful girl groups of recent years. With 29 million monthly listeners, a global ranking of 198 among all artists, two Grammy nominations, a performance on the Grammy stage, and a MTV Music Award, she has quickly established herself on the global stage. She also has around nine million followers and recently made her acting debut with a self-conceived short film.
And then came the break: Manon is currently no longer actively part of the K-pop group. According to the label, it is a temporary pause to focus on her health and well-being. However, there has been speculation behind the scenes about a possible racism-related controversy—and whether the break is truly voluntary. None of this has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the group continues performing without her, including at major shows like Lollapalooza. Online, fans are actively discussing the situation, applying pressure, and strongly calling for her return. Many say the group is not the same without her, highlighting just how strong—and vocal—her fanbase has become.
What exactly lies behind the pause and how things will develop, including whether she will remain part of the group, is still unclear. What is certain is that Manon will continue her path—whether within the group or solo—and potentially not only as a singer, but also as an actress or model in the future.
